In 2011, six months after the launch of the Copperfields Project in Lake Temagami, Thackeray Mines & Minerals Inc. unveiled its Malartic Project in Malartic, Quebec. Situated in one of Canada’s most prolific gold mining regions, the Abitibi Gold Belt, the Malartic operation further cemented Thackeray’s strategic presence in North America’s premier mineral-rich zones.

The Malartic Project was initiated following extensive geological assessments, which confirmed substantial gold and silver reserves in the region. Building on the momentum of its earlier projects, Thackeray Mines & Minerals leveraged its technical expertise and modern mining infrastructure to establish a state-of-the-art operation designed to maximize resource efficiency and economic output.

The project highlighted Thackeray’s commitment to sustainable mining practices. Advanced extraction and processing technologies were implemented to ensure environmental protection while achieving high recovery rates of gold and silver. A comprehensive environmental management plan was also integrated to minimize the mine’s ecological impact and maintain alignment with local and federal regulations.
